What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Your first visit is very important as it provides an us with the opportunity to gain critical insight into your mental and physical health, lifestyle habits, intervention/treatment expectations, as well as establishing baseline biometric data for analyzing and tracking your health and wellness.
You will need to complete your New Patient Information documents prior to your visit. You can either download, complete and bring them with you OR complete them online. Click here to download the documents. Click here to complete electronically. Once you arrive, you should expect to spend 45 minutes during this visit. The first 15 minutes will include reviewing your health history, lifestyle habits, and reason for the visit. The remaining 30 minutes include obtaining biometric data, vital signs, and measurements, as well as a 5-minute aerobic assessment (step test) and blood work (capillary draw/finger prick). The following represents the various steps:
Your information and results from the visit will be loaded to your online portal within 24 hours of the visit. You will need to have a valid email address to be able to access the portal. If you do not wish to use the portal, we can provide you with printed copies of your results. The portal is also where your data will be maintained, tracked and available for you to review (your progress, to provide to your personal physician, etc.). Your scheduled period of time is specifically for you (no overlapping; spending time with other patients). Thus, it is important that you arrive for and on time for your appointment. If you are going to arrive 10 or more minutes after your scheduled time, please call us to confirm if there is adequate time to complete the first session or to reschedule. |
Tips for your First Appointment

2. Be sure to block off 45 minutes for the visit AND your time traveling to and from the appointment. 3. Bring tennis, training or other athletic shoes to perform the aerobic assessment (5 minutes step-test). 4. Unless otherwise directed by your personal physician OR unless doing so will result in a medical condition, issue, or emergency, try not to: a. Eat anything 2 hours prior to the appointment time. b. Perform exercise 2 hours prior to the appointment time. c. Consume caffeine 2 hours prior to the appointment time. |
